New Thrice Sooner Than Later?

A peek at their website, and eager fans can see Thrice speak of new material in one of their latest updates. 12 possible new songs in fact! With 8 of the aforementioned being ironed out, and 4 more almost more than 1/2 way done, I'm getting excited! According to Dustin, people with tickets to Bamboozle Left might get to hear the new creative output from the quartet! Hold on to those tickets kids!

Read it for yourself at their website, and check out some gear pics taken from during the ongoing recording process. I peed myself thrice during the writing of this post.

Dark Was The Night

Dark Was The Night is the latest release from the Red Hot Charity Organization. On February 17 their effort aims to increase awareness of AIDS and HIV came to fruition in the form of a double disc. I like what the Red Hot Organization is about, because they aren't proclaiming to be working on a miracle cure - I believe they work on the premise that AIDS is most definitely a preventable disease with the proper education. 20 years since its inception, the Red Hot Organization put out their 20th album - 31 tracks that include notable artists like Justin Vernon, Coner Oberst, Andrew Bird, Sufjan Stevens, Feist, Beirut - the list goes on, and they cover songs by Nick Drake and Bob Dylan.

I'm going out to buy this after streaming "Brackett, Wi" by Bon Iver, and the National's contribution, "Far Around The Bend". I can't even contemplate downloading this, if you do you have no soul! You can find both tracks at the Dark Was The Night website.

WHERE'S MY DRUM TECH?

311 will drop their new record, Uplifter later this year. To whet your appetite and excite 14 year old boys the world over, peep this vid ---> 311 Sneak Peak

Haha, I'm pumped!

Destination: Beautiful

I spent all of 5 minutes looking for an audio clip of Sun by Mae, my latest obsession, and 5 minutes is a long time to be looking for something on Youtube! Off their debut record, Destination:Beautiful, this is easily one of my favorite songs by the band . That chorus will get stuck in your head, guaranteed. I really don't have anything mildly entertaining or worthwhile to say - check it here ---> Mae - Sun

ps - its a pretty crappy rip of the song, but I'm tired and want to sleep!

We Both Go Together If One Falls Down...

To Cat:

And I miss you, I'm going back home to the west coast.
I wish you, would put yourself in my suitcase.
I love you, standing all alone in a black coat.
I miss you, I'm going back home to the west coast.

When you're actually in California, songs about the west coast seem less cheesy. I'll always be cheesy though. Cheese, cheese, cheese. Wish you were here!

Who Knew Bonnaroo

                                    (my kind of crowd)

Bonnaroo just announced their first lineup as well. As if I needed another reason to head to Manchester, Tennessee! Seriously though, some awesome acts that I would love to see live.

Check out who's playing here ---> Bonnaroo line up 09

Animal Collective, The Boss, Ben Harper, Crystal Castles, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Gomez, Snoop Dogg!, Erykah Badu, The Mars Volta, MGMT, .moe, Bon Iver, Girl Talk plus loads of others (some that are even playing Coachella). Sounds like an awesome time and more money I don't have!

Californiiiiiaaaa

*cue Phantom Planet's ubiquitous single*

It still hasn't sunken in, but I now apparently live in southern California. My cousin who lives here summed up every thing I was thinking in one sentence : "How WEIRD!"

I've been coming here on vacation for as long as I could remember, and actually staying here, living here? Weird. I'll have to constantly remind myself I'm not on vacation anymore.
